In every report
How a report is authenticated.
A dated record is only as good as the proof that it existed on that date and has not changed since. Every Substradium report is built so that proof travels with it.
Where each fact comes from
- Substradium keeps its own dated copies of public federal and state carrier records. Each copy is logged with its source and the time it was captured.
- A stored copy is not edited afterward. A correction is recorded as a new entry, and the earlier entry stays.
The report
- Each fact in a report names its source, its capture date, and the archive fingerprint it came from. A fact taken from a copy captured after the requested date is labeled Reconstructed.
- The delivered package is a PDF, an HTML copy, and a JSON copy. The report prints the cryptographic fingerprint of its JSON copy.
Certification, when you need it
- Custodian declaration. Every certified record includes a business-records declaration by Substradium's records custodian describing the capture process and identifying the report by its fingerprint. It is part of the posted price: one record, $1,500.
- Deposition availability. Records testimony only: how the archive works and what it showed on a date. Quoted and prepaid. Substradium does not offer opinion testimony; your retained expert interprets the record.
Checking a report
- Go to the verification page at substradium.com/verify. Enter the fingerprint printed on the report, or upload the JSON copy of the report.
- A match means Substradium issued a record with that fingerprint. An uploaded JSON copy matches only if it is, byte for byte, the copy Substradium issued.
- No match means the fingerprint was not issued by Substradium, or the file differs from the issued copy.
- The verification answer names neither the carrier nor the customer.
How a report is admitted is a question for counsel in your jurisdiction; this page describes what Substradium does, not what a court will accept. Related: Terms · W-9 · Specimen report
